WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR PETS SURGERY

FELINES:

Normal Behaviors to expect after your pet’s surgical procedure include head bobbing, wobbly movements, agitation, shivering and hypersensitivity to light and sound.

Anesthesia may cause nausea, drooling or lip smacking for 24 hours.

Provide water and encourage your pet to eat ½ of their normal meal as soon as possible to prevent hypoglycemia.

It is important to keep your pet warm. Anesthesia causes animals to struggle to regulate their body temperature.  Keeping them indoors at 75 degrees helps with their recovery.

Keep male cats indoors for 3 days. Keep female cats indoors and away from male cats for at one week.
